Since the 2000s many face bad obstacles with young teens African Americans and Hispanic getting killed in the streets because of the involvement with gangs and how the lack of resources such as support like guide dances, green space, and high employment rate can affect a children to get influence to join a gang and make bad choices in life.

A lack of social and natural resources are some reasons why young teens joins gangs. Also, there has to be more green space for children to play in and parks that need to be built. I choose this topic to make a change and inform to people that there must be changes to reduce gang violence. We need more resources for children because at a young age they learn and get influenced easily because they are so young.
Do young kids join a gain to feel like they belong somewhere or need love? why do young adults choose to do bad things knowing there are bad consequences yet still don’t care?
If people are informed and realize how some communities lack resources it can reduce gang violence and the amount of young adults who join gangs. For instance, there are very few parks available in the Little Village area. We have one at Albany and Kildare and 31st. There should be other places and buildings where children can do a number of different activities.
Some young teens find it easier to be in the streets doing bad things and making wrong decisions because mistakes are so easy to make.
Having good resources for young teens will reduce the amount of members joining a gang and also the number of homicides. In today's generation I have noticed that young teens are the ones getting killed. In America between 2002 and 2012 found that at least 28,000 children and teens 19-years-old and younger were killed with guns. Teenagers between the ages of 15 and 19 made up over two-thirds of all youth gun deaths in America. What this shows is that teens are getting killed at a young age instead of going to school and getting an education. This becomes an issue of concern because it should be ensured that every teen goes to school.
Too many young lives are lost because of gang rivalries and members being in the streets, which causes difficulty in being successful coming out from this part of Chicago. There could be many other resources such as buildings to do homework, parks, green spaces, etc in order to support young teens. Many parents are concerned for their children to play outside their house because parents are afraid or too busy worried about a car pulling up and shooting. A quote was given from a friend who had a friend involved in a gang. "He had a whole bright future ahead of him that was taken away," "Tyquan was the most loving and caring person you could ever meet and I was glad that he walked into my life."
As children grow up they become curious. They start asking questions and at times their parents cannot answer them. Which means children place themselves in a field of experimentation by joining gangs. It’s important to make this community a better and a much more safe place for children, adults, and parents to live in.
Since the 2000s African Americans and Hispanics are killed in the streets because of the involvement with gangs. According to Foley of “Intellectual Takeout,” 83.4% of deaths were from shootings, 6.7% stabbings, and 6.5% assaults. Of the 362 firearm homicides, 351 (97%) were from handguns. 77% of all homicide victims had a prior arrest history. Victims were 90% male. The following statistics show that African Americans and Hispanics are the most dominant races that are being undeserved in their communities. Which means they are exposed to even greater dangers and no resources to help them.
